Executive Director & Teacher

Mrs. Haskins has over 10 years of classroom/homeschool experience. She graduated from Huntington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 2006. Mrs. Haskins has experience teaching as a 2nd grade classroom teacher, K-5th English Language Learner teacher, and a 4th/5th grade resource teacher for a local public school district. As her family began to grow, she became a stay at home mom and, in addition to working part time for her church, Mrs. Haskins homeschooled her 3 children for 6 years until she became a teacher at Streams of Hope Chrisitian Academy in 2021.

Mrs. Haskins utilizes an eclectic mix of traditional, unit study, and Charlotte Mason curriculum and resources with the tiniest bit of Classical methods sprinkled in here and there for good measure. In addition to teaching in the classroom, Mrs. Haskins leads our school by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school as well as leading the school staff.

Organization

Our Host Church

Streams of Hope operates within the structure of the constitution and by-laws of Heartland Church of Fort Wayne.

3 Streams

We provided balanced and well-rounded formation to our students through an approach called, “3 Streams: Scripture, Spirit, Sacrament”. We teach our students to love Scripture, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and embrace the rich legacy of the historical Church.

Our Anglican Family

Heartland is part of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA) in the diocese of the Great Lakes (ADGL)

Beliefs

In addition to the doctrinal statements listed below, we believe in the 3 historic creeds of the Church; the Apostles’, the Nicene, and the Athanasian.

God

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons–the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory; that this triune God creates all, upholds all, and governs all.

Sin

We believe that all men are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore under condemnation; that God regenerates and baptizes by the Holy Spirit those who repent of their sins and confess Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The Bible

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God, fully inspired, without error in the original manuscripts and the infallible rule of faith and practice.

The Church

We believe in the worldwide Church, the living spiritual body, of which Christ is the Head and all regenerated persons are members.

The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love and that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

The Sacraments

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ committed two ordinances to the church: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe these Sacraments, water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion), are open to all believers.

Jesus

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings, His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and soon, personal, visible return to the earth. We believe that in His first coming Jesus inaugurated the fulfillment of the kingdom of God, and in His second coming He will consummate the fulfillment of the kingdom of God.

Ministry

We believe in the laying on of hands for empowering of the Holy Spirit, for ordaining of ministers, for receiving gifts of the Holy Spirit and for healing.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment to regenerate, sanctify, and empower for ministry all who believe in Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit dwells in every believer in Jesus Christ and that He is an abiding Helper, Teacher, and Guide. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit.

The Second Coming

We believe in the personal, visible, appearing of Christ to earth and the consummation of His Kingdom; in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment and eternal blessing of the righteous and endless suffering of the wicked.
